HYDRA - Hydra is a gigantic multi-headed dragon from Greek mythologies. Hydra was often described as creature with 6 to 9 heads with the middle one being immortal and with poisonous breath and blood. Hydra was fierce offspring of Echinda and Typhon. They may or may not have wings or legs. In Greek mythology Hercules fought a giant hydra with 8 heads. Every time he managed to slash one off with sword, two would come in its place. A nephew helped him by cauterizing each wound as a head was lopped off. The last head was immortal so Heracles buried it under a large rock. Once the beast's body was dead, Heracles dipped his arrowheads into its blood, making them poisonous. One more ancient Greek hero who fought hydra was Jason who killed a hydra to get the Golden Fleece.

Hydras are one of constantly used creatures in modern age literature and movies, also in video games... They are evil creatures who fight for or belong to evil-aligned races...
